..how you could not love this little guy? Huh? Come on, you know you want one. 1943 Mosin Nagant 91/30. It's been gone through a bit, so it's slightly improved. And 880 rounds of 7.62x54R mil surplus ammo is like $150. Now I just need to find a mile long range with a mountain backstop so I can shoot it a bit. Passes SAAMI Go, No-Go.

Turbobuddha:

The Mosin Nagant and a SKS are on my "to get" list this year. The Mosins are well made and had a long service life. Plus I really like military surplus collectables.

Thanks for the pics, it sure is a nice looking rifle.

Please update us when you get a chance to put some rounds downrange.

I'm hooked! I saw one at the local gun shop Friday night. Dated 1923, darn near mint cond, with web gear and accessories, all for $100.!
Think I'm gonna go back tomorrow and grab it.

I may need a whole room to put my new collection in. Ok, I just have the one. I haven't been able to get to the outdoor range yet and the indoor range doesn't like anything rounds with steal projectiles, including bimetal jacketing. I guess I need some good brass to reload anyway (if I ever make it that far) so I should just get some good new ammo for that.

I didn't redo the wood, that was done before me. I think it's just a basic shellac type finish. The guy I got it from has one he redid with tung oil or something like that, very nice. These things are fun and I haven't even shot it yet.

The guy I got it from redid the trigger with the adjustment mode and the take up spring. Its strange to say, but yeah, it's got a pretty nice trigger on it now. Glad to see there's a few addicts here. We seem to be everywhere.
