Odd Ruger Lock

today I was going through drawer where I throw odds and ends and found this lock. I remember when I got it and that it came out of box a Mark II was in and at the time thought it was strange but gave it no more thought. It is the size of the small brass padlocks but feels to be iron and is very heavy for it's size. Did a search online today and could not find another one like it. Both sides look the same.

I've got a couple of those too. No idea which gun they came with now.

Those were used during a certain time period, maybe the earliest locks?

Late 90s around the time of the 1999 50th anniverary semi auto 22 ( really a MK II ???) duh....
