O/U problem

I have a Ruger O/U 20 ga sporting clays that I would like to sell but the second barrel will not fire if the barrel selector is set for the top barrel first. If set for the bottom barrel first it works just fine. When set for the top first it won't fire the second barrel but a slight touch to the back of the trigger will allow the bottom barrel to set. Is this a common problem ? Does anyone have experience on how to fix it ? I am reluctant to send back to Ruger for fear of damage to the gun

I had a Miroku daly do the same . Probably gummed up a bit. I resolved mine with a good strong spraying of a gun de-greaser followed by G96, both times using the red nozzle. On the Ruger you'll probably have to take the stock off but you might try going in from the trigger area
