Make sure you measure the cyl. throats. I have had two and BOTH were way undersized and too tight for cast bullets.
One had a way wonkey hole also.

Funny, mine had one hole bored a little deep so it misfired cause the cartridge seated too deep for firing pin. But at any rate don't leave yours unfired. 30s only exist to be fired. Way too fun and specialized to let them sit!
Did you have Ruger repair that?

I had one or two of the .30 Carbines over the years and they're a blast to shoot, they sure get attention at a range.
At the moment I'm leaving it unfired because I may have to sell it to help fund a major surgery for our cat.
If I don't, it's gonna make a lot of smoke and noise very soon.
