Ive got a NM Single Six stainless with 5 1/2 inch barrel that has a .22 LR cylinder but Im thinking of maybe getting a >22 Magnum cylinder for it. Funny thing is there are no markings to show that it ever had one. No engraved numbers on the cylinder I have and no firing pin groove either. Its serial no. 65-830XX and I guess what i need to do is call Ruger and ask them about what it was shipped as.

Until I can get the time to do that around work, anyone got any ideas of whether or not it might have been a convertible?

Thanks for the help.

only a call to the records department will answer that question, UNLESS , on the bottom of the cylinder frame, in front of the trigger guard, there is a "star" stamped on the flat...this indicates a single cylnder gun also known as the "star model"......on these guns, the box and the manual were also marked to show "single cylinder gun".......
