Finally putting some finishing touches on the references and the thought occurred to me to ask if anybody has seen anything other than a Southport Barrel address on the Lipsey's or later .44 Special flattops?? If there are Newport addresses, are they the large size NEWPORT or is the word NEWPORT the same font size as the rest of the rollmark?

How about the .41 flattop from Wlliams? Do all of these have the large NEWPORT barrel address or are there some with small NEWPORT also?

And the 50th Anniversary Super Blackhawk...Any with a small Newport address??

Also looking for anybody with a blued steel Bisley Blackhawk or Super Blackhawk with NEWPORT address (large or small) and with or without eagle logo rear sight.

Please provide sn's for the reference. If you don't wish to tell the world of your guns, please send a PM.

Thanks!!!

"Chet15",
Not sure if this is helpful but my 'clean up" Bird's Head, .45LC, 3 1/2", Blued / CCH, Vaquero (not 'New Vaquero') ser. no. 58-99085 has the Southport address in the same size type as the warning. It is all on the bottom of the barrel rather than the side.

OK, for the .44 Specials, that's what I've seen also so far. No Southports observed yet and no NEWPORTs with small font NEWPORT. At some point though, the small sized NEWPORT will have begun, especially with Ruger offering these guns now.

Terry T, I have a hunch all the short barreled birdshead guns have Southport address, and so far that's proving out (even though there are NEWPORT address "cleanup" Vaqueros). I am still of the opinion that those barrels are rollmarked with the address before being seated to the frame which would explain why these recent "cleanup" birdshead guns have a Southport address.

Anybody else?? Need a report on a high numbered Lipsey's gun, a recent blue Bisley and high numbered 50th Anniversary Super.

Now I know somebody has to have some info they can offer here. Who'll be the first to discover something new?

Chad, I just checked my 41 Flattop SN 87-80169 and it has the small Newport address. It was in the 2nd batch delivered I believe that came in the red box.

Same here for #520-17369

.41 Mag FT #87-79788 has the small Newport. This is the first one you handled.
