Doubt it catches on, but kinda cool............

22LR casings........is the increase in velocity from the reduction in bullet diameter???

I'd be interested in a 22LR with a lighter projectile and the different options in said boolit as the 21.....
Then I can shoot it in all my 22's.......................
Just my opinion.

Cheers,

Here we go again..... they are trying to feed us whatever they can to make a buck.....
DON'T BUY any of it..... We can do just fine with the massive amount of junk they're foisted on us already.
IMHO of course,
J.
But if they didn't make at least a buck, what would we have to shoot  ?

This is bringing back memories of
the Remington 5mm rim-fire.

Remember how well that went?
Since ammo companies are in the business to make money, they have the wheels turning out profitable ammo now, why should they tool up for an extremely limited cartridge? No one asked for it and It's not as though their gates are being pushed down by shooters en masse clamoring for another exotic and expensive rimfire.

I expect some gun writers will be singing the praises of this white elephant since the gun magazine publishers want ad revenue, but coming at the end of the panic-buying phase of both guns and ammo with money being tight, inflation continues, and rent and mortgage payments due, it's not going to fly.

I could be wrong, but I think not.

Hey, Winchester, how about filling the shelves with ammo that already exists instead of coming up with new crap then nobody wants to buy?
How about putting out some 35 Remington? Or maybe some 410 bird shot that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Or maybe some 35 whelen that doesn't cost $60 a box.
Geez.
Yeah for sure peachead! You can already buy solid copper 22 rounds I believe. What is so special about this round? Sounds like it might go the way of the 5 MM from Remington from back around 69 or 70.

I jumped on the 17HM2 band wagon early on with a Green Mtn barrel for a 10-22. After a bit of tweeking, it was quite satisfactory in it's own little niche.
The problem I had with that was the long term ammo outlook was poor and the bore tended to foul more readily than either 22lr or 17HMR. I finally sold both barrel and left over ammo stash(for a hefty profit) and bought another 77/17 rifle.
This 21 Sharp seems to be a similar scenario.

I'll absolutely be purchasing a Savage Mk II FV-SR so chambered, and a good supply of ammunition to play around with as well...I personally like trying out new things... It's just something that I enjoy doing. 😉
Plus, I don't badmouth &/or root for every new cartridge/firearms offering introduced to fail, before even so much as laying a hand on one.

I hope it does extremely well! In year two or three I may buy a 10/22 barrel and some ammo to play with. I shoot .22lr and that's likely never going to change.
