Bearcat
I recently picked up a pair of New Vaqueros for Cowboy action shooting in .357. First think g I did was swap in Super blackhawk hammers ( a common mod for cowboy shooting). Unfortunately one of the guns gets light primer strikes (about one round in 5) with both CCI and Winchester primers (yes, I could use Federals but these days I need to use what I can get.)
I was going to swap out the hammer spring but ran into a problem there. The springs (I bought a set of 3 to find the best weight) I got from WOLFF are too long. They literally cannot be compressed enough to fit on the hammer strut. Compared to the spring that came out, they are about a half inch longer, uncompressed.
Wolff lists the same springs for all centerfire single action Rugers but, interestingly does not specifically list the New vaquero at all. Does the New Vaquero use a different spring than the Blackhawk or "old" Vaquero? If so, then I need to find another source.
TIA
