Just ordered a Speed Six (stainless) from Robertson's Trading Post. Stated that it had 100-200 rounds through it. Not sure how they determined that. It was on duty at the Borinquen Air Station in Puerto Rico. They have several Six Series available! I had excellent customer service experience with this company!

Does it have the PD markings on it? If so, can you post a pic of those?

Nice score …. One of my favorites ….. I'll have to visit their store again.

Description said "department marked ". I didn't see anything in the pictures. As soon as I receive it I'll check it over and post pics if it is so marked.

I will just comment on the grips on it. Several years ago I bought a 2 inch bbl Smith & Wesson model 64-2 from my local pawn shop before they closed. This revolver was used and had a few minor cosmetic issues but had been fired very little and was in great mechanical condition. When I bought it I had a pair of nice Hogue wood combat grips that I was going to put on it, but it came to me with a set of Pachmyr grips just like what is on the revolver you are buying. Actually after handling the revolver with those grips I like them so much I just couldn't take them off to put the woods on it. Those are the most comfortable rubber grips that I have owned on a short barreled revolver. Perfect shape, fills my hand, nice grip, but not tacky. I suspect you are going to like those as well.

Very nice.....dang the cylinder face is pretty clean! As for 100-200 rounds I dunno.....find the date it left Ruger and it will tell you if it was Air Force, Navy or Coast Guard that issued it on that air station that changed hands a bit. I know all the Navy sixes I ran across in the 1980's armories had thousands of rounds through them. Heck just a basic night shoot they had 120 rounds through them.

Love the grips also, I'm partial to Pachys as they say "80's" to me. Are those Pachys? Don't see the emblem.

I can affirm that they are. The only logo is on the very bottom of the grips in very small print.

Thanks all! In the past, I was not a fan of Pachmayr grips but have since grown to love them. I actually have a good used set of Pachmayr Presentation Grippr grips coming from Old Arms of Idaho. I have a set of Pachmayr Gripper Pro (open back) on my S&W Model 10 and I have a set of the same for my Colt Trooper. I will see how well I like the grips that are on it but will most likely switch to the Grippers.

I believe that the production date was listed as 1982. The revolver should arrive today or tomorrow. Below is a picture of the Gripper grips made by Pachmayr that I ordered for it. The listing says for Speed Six but I see Service Sixes listed in-laws Speed Sixes.

I was looking at the Speed Sixes from Robertson, in fact yours was one of the main ones I considered. The reason I passed on that particular one is because in the description they said it has a .008 b/c gap which is kind of on the high side. I'm sure it'd fine and I doubt you have anything to worry about, it's within spec just at the high end of spec.

To anyone wondering they have a 2.75 Service Six also and you can see the squadron markings engraved on it. It's looking like these are air force guns. The descriptions say they served on the front lines against Castro and cartels.
