Later this week I will be receiving a "new to me" Security Six. Been looking for one reasonably priced for about 10 years. The owner/gunsmith at the store I purchased this from has owned it for the past 20 years. He stated that he has put about 300 rounds of .357 through it. As far as he knows there has never been any .38 Special through it. I was told that the grips are early Bill Rogers grips and that Safariland later bought the design. It was also suggested that he collaborated with Hogue. So, I'm back in the "Ruger Club". Haven't been here for a while!

The Sixes are amazing! Took my Speed Six to the range today, been carrying it a lot recently since the weather's cooled off.

I actually prefer the fixed sight Police Service Six, but one takes what he can get!
I've got two Police Service Six 4" in 38spl and see them often selling cheaper than Speed & Security Sixes. They're like a beefed up Model 10 (38) or Model 13(357) that don't wear out and about half the price of a Model 13. Love the Six Series and have two 3" & one 2 3/4" Speed Sixes, one 2 3/4" Security Six & two Service Six 4" 38spl. Think I've scratched the itch enough now and will spend my $$ on reloading components to keep them fed.

I've been experimenting with carrying my Speed Six 2 3/4" lately and found this Azula much more comfortable than IWB. Conceals with untucked shirt or jacket in cooler weather. I put a factory DAO hammer on it for snag free draw.

You can find a good deal on GB if you're patient. Got this one for bid of $305. Swapped the DAO hammer with the DA/SA from the Speed Six, new grip and cleaned up the finish. Thumbnail photo from GB ad.
