Good day,

Completed a transaction yesterday on an old model single six,
Serial # 37307* , 6.5 " barrel, fixed sights, 22 lr.

Ruger's site indicates the serial number it is a .22 magnum ??

Have only seen small pics, hope to receive it on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Yep,,, most likely a MARKED 22 Mag only revolver. However,,, some of those were shipped with a 22 LR cylinder. A call to Ruger Records would be in order to see if it's shipping configuration has an "X" with it. (RSSMX) Let us know,,,!

IIRC, the "Magnum Marked" series of Single-Sixes ended around s/n 340XXX. Your gun is most likely a Ruger Single-Six marked example and it may or may not have a second cylinder, sans firing pin groove, chambered in .22 magnum. (The .22 Long Rifle calibre cylinders have a firing pin groove on the breech end.)

Ruger's "on line" Single-Six data is in error as is the data appearing in R.L. Wilson's otherwise excellent book, Ruger and His Guns.

RENE backs up flatgate's excellent memory with the cutoff for "Magnum marked" Single-Sixes at around the 340XXX range.

Apparently there were literally a handful made marked only "Single-Six" thru perhaps serial number 394740, but by far the majority were as indicated above.

As contender recommends, a call to the Ruger records department will let you know for sure.
