For the longest time I was totally against the idea of a pocket pistol... but I have a very good friend I respect who carries a little Glock of some kind in his pocket.... I've had to just accept that some people are different than me. Then I watched Hickok 45's video on pocket pistols and made a turn. Still not my favorite way to carry but I will admit it has its place. My wife on Friday night at 8:45 asked me to drive up to the the local Walgreens pharmacy and pick somethings up for her and I just stuck my Sig P290, which I keep on a shelf in a pocket holster, in my pocket and drove there and back.
I'm new to carry. I've been considering it for about 15 years and just recently felt assured that I had the right mindset to do so. I'm sure I'll develop preferences over time.

Whenever a firearm becomes popular and has a good reputation, I get interested. I was --> this <-- close to buying a P365X, when a friend called me that very day and invited me to shoot his. He's had it for a few years and puts about 200 rounds a week through it - he practices seriously for concealed carry. No malfunctions to my knowledge.

To my surprise, I didn't like it. I couldn't get a good sight picture; I didn't like the trigger.

That's what made me get the P938 Legion (still in WA's wait-quarantine).

For carry, there's my LCP and S&W 3" .357 Model 60.

All the guns I own, and I own many are reliable. Not to say any gun made cannot have a failure. Yes, I have gotten rid of guns in the past that are not and I detest a firearm that does not hold up to a lot of shooting without falling apart. However there are also other considerations. The gun has to have good fit and feel for my particular hand and a big test is how the gun feels to me personally with a lot of rounds fired in one session. Glocks are great firearms and reliable. However they have never been my cup of tea. I do not like shooting them. Do not like the grip, and hate the damn way they do their trigger guard. Always get a blister on my trigger finger with a lot of rounds down range. Interesting that PSA saw this and designed a much better version.
What I also dislike tremulousness is the VIBRATION when shooting a lot of rounds from a Glock or other loose tolerance pistols.
My wrists aren't limp enough for a Glock

I've got a chance to buy a very slightly used P365 with box and 3 mags. I have ZERO "need" for it and would cause me to buy another holster ……. No problems with my G43 or LCR in the carry rotation but …. The Sigs are so darn good I may
Do it! My nephew bought an original P365 while he was NYPD and I loved it right away. I've had a 228 for a couple decades and I'm an Sig guy and the 365 impressed me immensely as a daily. I recently got the P365X cause it allows one to get the pinky on the grip along with an extra two rnd capacity. I would certainly jump on an original if I could get it used at a fair price. I took a couple pics of the X with my 642 Smith and they're very close in size. I've had both in my pocket( at different times) and they work for pocket CC. I recently ordered two Bianchi Nemesis pockets for them.

I picked up a couple of aftermarket baseplate extensions and can get the full hand on the P365. Cost like five bucks or so.

I know. The fact that the X comes optic ready is what really sold me, not that I plan on mounting an optic on a short range pistol but better to have it and not need it then….
Either would have been fine for me.

Why would you limit yourself to short range!!! My Max9 does 2"@25 yds. I could easily center mass a threat at 100yds if needed. I suppose a Man needs to know his limits 🤣😂🤣😂

I just meant a CC for usually bad breath type ranges. Of course it could be further dependent on situation. Don't think I'd take a football field length shot at a skel though, it would be a cool hit but judges and jury's likely wouldn't agree with us.

Why, well because of the laws of probability, the cost of ammo etc. I shoot at longer distances, but very small percentage. A lot with a 22.cal for fun. I enjoy shooting but carry a pocket gun, or Snub. I go through a lot of ammo each week. It takes a lot to stay proficient just at the prime attack points of 3' to 10 yds. If I wanted to be proficient at 25 Plus yds, I need to start adding to even more ammo cost, more time etc and carry a Duty Pistol of which I am not going to do. Better yet, would be a shotgun or AR.

If one is 'drilling' for concealed carry then I would suggest about 5 yards give or take is what you need to practice on. Putting 2 to 3 rounds into center mass as fast as possible from concealed. Not one but two or three. The first time I took a force on force class I learned that just one round is a failure to stop the threat. Then again when I went back with a friend he got away with it.... scenario was you are standing at the counter in a store with the clerk in front of you and all of a sudden a bad guy come up behind the clerk and puts a gun to her head... all you can see of the bad guy is half his head looking around the clerk's head. My friend drew and put one in the bad guy's head so fast he did not know what had happened... "Cease Fire! End of Scenario!"
