The KT folding carbines I handled - I was interested in the version that took Beretta 92-series mags - also struck me as rather flimsy. It was a neat toy, but I wasn't sure how much serious use it would take. That's most emphatically not the case with the Ruger PC carbines, whether original or the current version. Initial buzz on the Henry Homesteader is also very favorable.Son has a KelTec folding 9mm carbine. After looking at it closely, I'm NOT a fan. The KelTec design(and the apparent design of the pictured S&W version,) leave too many parts exposed to dust and debris for me to like.
But with the side folder I put on my older Ruger PC 9 the rifle will shoot with the stock folded.. and also I can't see how that is 'more bunker that the one pictured for this post... now I do have an AR-15 with a folding stock and it won't work folded....The one problem with side folders for me is the bulk when folded. That's the biggest selling factor for the Kel-Tec... I can fold it, slip it inside a laptop case, and then leave it under the seat of my truck... just in case I unintentionally find myself in the middle of some social unrest on my way out of Dallas at 2am.
See posts # 1, 3 & 24. (Look at where the hinge is in the pictures) The pic in blume's post is one of the original pcc's he modified.Where do you see that the barrel folds?
