Do you have any idea what fps you get out of the LC45 carbine with either the .45LC rounds or the .45ACP rounds?
I don't have a LC45, but I do have a .45 ACP carbine that I've fired standard ball ammo through. 8 inch and 10 inch barrel. Standard ball ammo remains subsonic except when there is bullet setback, then it occasionally goes transonic/supersonic. That occurs between 1050 and 1100 fps, so I'd bet standard ball clocks between 1000 and 1050. Someday I will get around to do load development instead of playing with hardware and measure it.
So, I am thinking that this website is just giving us the manufacturer's stats, and not getting them on their own.
Read the description of the BBTI experiment; they absolutely collected their own data. It was a huge and very valuable insight into the real world performance of ammo when that data was published, and it still provides valuable insight that cannot be easily obtained by reviewing the data from the majority of manufacturers.

I believe the LC carbine is a blowback action. I had a blowback 45 ACP carbine a few years ago, Marlin Camp Carbine, with a 16" barrel and it actually was slower than my 5" 1911. I attributed that to the blowback action robbing some of the energy. These weren't +P loads tho, and I expect that would make a difference. I now have a CMMG radially delayed 45 ACP AR-15 because blowback....blows....

I still think the Ruger is a cool gun tho, and might get one someday?!?!?

You're correct on the action. Although the design may mitigate some of the energy loss. +P does make a significant difference as shown in the chart up thread, and in the link below for standard velocity ammo.

Another less obvious factor that adds to its compact design is its unique blowback action. Using a bolt that slides partially over the barrel, the required mass for proper semi-automatic function is displaced forward, as is the receiver space needed for reliable cycling. Since material is needed in this area for the other operating components anyway, this system is inherently efficient.

Another bonus for the heavy 2 piece bolt is a light recoil spring. I have a CZ Scorpion 3 plus and the effort required to pull the bolt back is much greater. The Ruger LC isn't much harder than a 10/22.

I've got the Ruger 45 LC and with spunky reloads was measuring 1363 avg FPS with 135gr poly/copper bullets.
They are great with steel silhouette targets. No ricochets...

Just bought the LC Carbine in 45 ACP and shot it today with a 2.5X scope at 25 yards sighting in. Groups were 1 big hole with 9 shots of 5 different reloads. Very accurate compared to my 45 ACP CMMG RDB carbine. Didn't chrono my loads yet. Will be using Longshot or CFE powder for new loads. Have a ROMEO5 RDS on order. My experience has been that the slower powders give higher carbine velocities. Plan on doing some bowling pin shooting.

FYI...for you LC Carbine owners: the Kriss Magazine extension kit will convert an existing G21 13-round magazine into a 30 round magazine. I put some together for a buddy who has a LC Carbine .45 ACP, and he really likes them. You can find them here: Midway USA Kriss Mag Extension Kit +17 rounds

Interesting. More is sometimes better. :) I bought 4 of the KCI 26rnd mags a few months ago or I'd consider the extension kit you mention.

Along with that, a good muzzle break is helpful if you shoot +P ammo in this gun.

What is the opinion on can options for the LC, since adding a pound of weight to an already nose heavy rifle will take some getting used to, but unavoidable.?

My 5.7s do well with the YHM Stinger, but these carbines are about a pound lighter than the. 45, and the Stinger weighs about half what my Octane 45K dies.

I replaced my folder with a fake buffer tube and stock. I guess you could easily add weights to the inside of the tube.
