the sr 556 , i believe you guys are talking about.

is this a proven and tweaked design....in other words pretty much trouble free ?

at what price can they be bought for ?
am eyeing a colt 6920 at about $1200 but an update on this type of weapon seems maybe the way to go.

give me the details and anyone who owns one can also fill me in and the good and bad points of the new ruger design .... if there are any bad points !

thanks prowler

IF you intend to add a quad-rail and back up sights to your AR, the Ruger is an excellent deal... as it comes with both (about $500 worth).

I paid $1400 for my Ruger, which also comes with a decent soft case and three 30 round PMags.

I'm not a Colt fan (have owned a couple in the past), so I have no idea what configuration a "6920" is.

I have to say the SR-556 is my favorite AR. Its rock solid, sub-MOA accurate, 100% reliable, very good deal with all the goodies. Get the SR-556.

I've had a chance to shoot mine and it is quite accurate... easily keeping 3 shot groups at less than an inch and 5 shot groups, just over an inch at 100 yards.

Pictures speak a thousand words.

Cheap reflex red dot sight at 25 yards:

No pic, but 1 1/2" groups at 100 yards and I'm not that good a shot!

100% reliablility with about 600 rounds so far.

Just my opinion, but the Ruger SR-556 with the four position adjustable gas piston system is the best AR on the market and the best deal too.
