Sold my first Wrangler (Silver) as for some reason I just decided it didn't do anything for me. Nagged at me that I needed one so I bought a new one last week (Tungsten) and I had it to the range last night. Shoots a tad low but it's accurate and the trigger is surprisingly good. No heavy loading gate issues on this one either, I think I'll keep this one.

Butt ugly black cherry. Come on Ruger, I really like the Wrangler and own several, but let's get back to the basic
and stay there. Don't think the single action concept or history ever imagined designer colors. The Wrangler works
for me, but the "Crayola box" of colors isn't at all necessary.

Call me an old-timer, but I just don't see it.
My 2 cents,
Shorty

My 19 year old granddaughter wants one of the fancy colored ones to go with her purple Ruger SR22. THERE is where Rugers future is ..... THAT is the market they seek ..... not you or me.

I just purchased a Wrangler model 2014 online and this is what I received (link is for reference only)
https://ruger.com/products/wrangler/specSheets/2014.html

What I was hoping to receive was this, also a model 2014 (link is for reference only)
https://www.bangersusa.com/product-detail/291464/wrangler-cowpoke22lr4-625-cobalt-bluedesantis-wildhog-holstercheckered-wood-talo

Does anyone know why the difference in grip and color? or why use the same model number? is Talo running two versions (both are listed as exclusives)?

The actual color of the guns is not nearly as vibrant as the pictures. The cobalt is more gray than blue in reality.

Ok so I have egg on my face (again). Stopped at my LGS yesterday, he said they got in 5 Black Cherry Wranglers tuesday and they all sold the same day. Now understand this, the county I live in (and the LGS is in) only has a population of a little over
29,000 folks. So I guess the "colors" are working well for Ruger. Perhaps I need to redefine my thinking. It's hard to teach an old
dog new tricks, but I'll still stick with the original silver, black and bronze. If you like the other colors, get them. It's supporting
our hobby and ownership rights!

My apology for being old and cranky. Enjoy what ever color you choose and I'll be supportive of you,
Shorty

the two links i referenced are very different in color and I dont believe you can blame that on a camera or lighting. not to mention the grips as well. This is my 5th Wrangler of different color and when compared to the original black, the cobalt I received is slightly more matte (but definitely black in color). I cannot say that I am disappointed, but I do want to get a "cobalt" and my lgs cant get any. I fear if I order another I will receive the same thing I already have

I too bought a 2014 Cobalt Wrangler, it is at best a bluish gray.

Look them up on gunbroker, the sellers that posted pictures taken in house are showing what the gun really looks like.

Check out what I found on GunBroker.com!

Picked up my Olive Drab Wrangler transfer today. Loading gate was fine, a little stiff but no straining to open, should loosen with use.

Transfer bar was getting stuck under the firing pin. Checked the base pin and noticed the little nub on the end was stuck. A drop of oil and repeatedly pressing on it freed it up. Transfer bar works fine now.

Hammer pull back is stiff, especially compared to my ultra-smooth Single Six. I'll put some oil on the mainspring and see if that helps.

All in all I really like the feel, solidity and balanced lines of this weapon. The barrel is shorter than my Single Six and I like that too.

Olive Drab is darker than pictures I've seen online. (I'm an Army vet, the OD appealed to me)

So far so good. Now I need to shoot it when I get time.

blue2golf,

Kudo's man. I like the OD also and it honors "our Vets". Thanks for your service. These little Wranglers are great guns,
built to last, like all Rugers. Shoot it and let us know how it does. I have several and are nuts about them.

Over in the Buckeye state,
Shorty

Thanks Shorty.

While Wranglers are plentiful, the Olive Drab color is on the scarce side, I was lucky to find it. (Whittaker's in Kentucky had precisely 3 OD color in stock, now down to 2 thanks to me. "Sold out" everywhere else online.)

Single Sixes/Single Tens/Bearcats seem to have gone extinct. If you want a factory new Ruger .22 revolver, the Wrangler is just about your only choice these days.
