New Smokeless Powder Factory in the US in the making in Arkansas.
It was announced recently that White River Energetics (new primer brand) would be building a smokeless powder factory in Des Arcs, Arkansas.
This will be the first propellant factory built in the US in 50 years. Most of the propellants used in the US are made in overseas factories. I am sure that everyone is aware of the current shortages and availability of some of our favorites. WRE factory is currently 17,000 sq feet will be increased to 100,000 square feet. This is not going to happen overnight however; it will take until 1st quarter of 2026 to get it up and running.

Competition is good, especially if their product is well received and its retail cost can keep competitors from hiking their prices, even better still forcing them to make cuts.

Good News for sure...........
I can wait..... !!!
Won't buy in the meantime............. :ninja:

I love it , jobs in the ammo buisness .😉

I will reserve my excitement until I actually see results.

There was lots of press and blather over the new primer and ammo plant in Texas. A business owner I know had lots of contact with them and he said to be careful, things weren't adding up at that time. I admit I don't know where they ended up but at one time they were making some ammo but no components which is what people were excited about.

A few of White River's primers have hit the market and from what I can tell, the prices are right in line with everything else. They did, perhaps, fill some voids in the production deficiencies but apparently not to a great extent.

I was having an online discussion with a guy at Hornady, used to live in Grand Island, NE, and asked about primers. Hornady makes their own but doesn't make any for resale. It just makes me wonder why?

I lived in Des Arc for 6 years. Little delta town of about 3500, rice growing country. I worked for Prairie County Farmers Coop and preached for a little church of about 60 people there. They could use some jobs. You either farm, work for a farmer, or do something farming related. Or you drive a ways to work every day...
