Just had to say my SS NMB just got a new friend. Picked up a new Marlin 336 stainless on sale at Dicks for $489. Always wanted a marlin 30-30, especially since they started making them in stainless. Got it on sale and also a $35 mail in rebate. Saw a couple of these rifles in a local pawn shop. Guy wanted over $500 for used beat up rifles. So, i feel pretty lucky. Cant beat that. Early Christmas for me. Looks great and natural next to my blackhawk. Both are keepers. Will never get rid of either.

What's also cool is when you snag a 44-40 Vaquero and one of the Marlin 1894 Cowboys in 44-40 at the same time. Sweet!

FAIR WARNING- this Ruger/Marlin thing can become a serious disease!

There are some odd caliber new Marlin 1894s out there. You just have to search for them. My 44-40 Cowboy was one of a special run of 450 for Davidsons. I also have one of the 32-20s that was made a couple of years ago along with the 25-20.

The little 1894 makes a great companion rifle to a like-caliber Vaquero or Blackhawk.

I got one or two Marlins around. :)

I love my 336SS. Sub-$500 is a good price for one. Congrats.
