I am very pleased with my new LCP other than the fact that it started to lock up -the side would get stuck = fully racked and stuck - with the manual hold open not engaged. This happened at the range while firing at least once each mag. Well I love stoppage drills - but on a brand new gun? - - including showing the guy behind the counter after - not intentional but the slide "stuck" in the rear position and the manual hold open was not even up. Of course it was unloaded then. I managed to finally get the slide forward. I only used Federal and Speer ammo at the range - and only about 30 rounds.
Back home, I thoroughly cleaned the gun and assembled the extractor springs in the correct manner. I have taken the gun apart (that is the 5 parts) several time sto try to identify the problem.
Now the slide locks back every time I rack it - with no help from the manual hold open and the slide will not be released without some intense fiddling with the hold open that seems to have no corelation to this slide jam - I have no idea what is happening here? Other than my fingers are blistered.
Would appreciate any help before I return it.
