I just picked up this GP100 today. Bought it on Gunbroker, listed as NIB. It is. All else on this gun is perfect. Save the muzzle. Yes, I know I should have examined the muzzle before I walked out of the gun shop, but I just noticed it. I don't know if any of these are serious, or no big deal. I've only had one revolver before and it was stainless. The scars seem to be on the muzzle, and not on the crown exactly. No, I'm not gonna shoot competition with it, but I want it to be accurate to 25 yds. If these are serious, what can I do? Have it re-crowned? Send it back to Ruger?

I would shoot it at 25 yards, if the groups are not what you think they should be then think about having it worked on.

It will be fine. I have had them in much worse shape and it made no discernible difference in the accuracy.

If you are concerned, study the muzzle closely with a good magnifier. Look at the grooves & lands carefully. If you see damages there, then you may have cause to wonder. Next, as noted, take it out & see how it shoots. After both of those things, if it isn't shooting well with factory ammo, THEN contact Ruger & see what they think.

I don`t think that little bit of damage will do anything to cause it not to shoot well.
If it were to become a safe Queen I would have an issue with it. Not as a shooter.

I would block sand the muzzle using 400 grit wet and dry paper and then rust blue just that area . I doubt anyone could tell it was ever done. That is if it bothers you.

I bought a NIB GP-100 Wiley Clapp last year, and it arrived from the FFL dealer with several blemishes. I called Ruger's customer service, and they were predictably great. They emailed me a label for shipping at Ruger's expense, and got the revolver back to me in 10 days looking perfect. I'm sure they would do likewise for you.

That will buff right out. ...for once that is completely true. A little sandpaper or a Scotch-Brite pot scrubber and it will look like new.

None of those cosmetic scratches will affect your accuracy in any way.

Agree. I don't see any damage. Rubs in the finish maybe, but I've seen worse from the box during shipping.

SHOOT that gun!

I would return it to the seller, it's not as listed not NIB looks like it has been well used as a carry gun in a holster with a open barrel end.

Everything else about the gun is unquestionably NIB. All other parts of the gun have 0 wear, as in I have a hard time believing that it was test fired.

Took her to the range this morning and she shot great. I only had 50 rds of Blazer Brass 158 gr. JHP, and a (2) 20 rd. boxes of Speer Gold Dot 125 gr.

When I shot from the bench, for chrony results, all groups were just one ragged hole. The off-hand was great, save for flyers calle day the shooter.

The following groups are 15 yds., off-hand. The center group is 6 shots of 125 gr. Gold Dots. The lower right is the 158 gr. Blazer Brass" 4 shots. Cease fire was called at the range before I could finish the cylinder. The upper left group is made up of 6 shots of the Blazer, and then I fired the 3 remaining rounds of Speer Gold Dots that I had left. I deliberately tried to shoot just above the target. All in all it was a great shooting day. I couldn't be happier with the GP's performance I added the red front sight and the Ruger Alaskan grips (ordered them through the Ruger
website).

I didn't realize the gun was 'blued'. In the first picture it looked stainless. Don't use any abrasive on the scratches just get some 'cold blue' to cover them or even a blue permanent marker will hide them. :D
