I've wanted an SP101 for quite a spell. The fact that I like my revolvers blued has stopped my from acquiring one.
Then, the heavens parted, and I saw that Ruger has released the .357 mag SP101 in blue.
Fabulous!
My local gun dealer had one in stock today, and I was all ready to whip out my wallet....but honestly, the frame on that thing looked like it had it's final polish with a wire wheel.
Not acceptable to me.
I'm not expecting a 50's Smith and Wesson finish, but c'mon :(
Who else has seen these in person, did I just run across a dog or is this how they look.

Yes i saw one last week. I don't think it's a traditional "blued" finish but I think it's a coating over stainless steel. I might be wrong, about this however.

It did have a matte finish, which in that style, looked very nice.

No, it is not a high polished blued S&W.

My dealer got a new Colt Cobra in-
Lets just say Taurus has a better finish.
Its going back to the distributor.
It's just not Ruger with less than desirable finish.
Oh by the way , Ruger price increase coming for the new year.

Well, I will keep my eyes open for another one. If it was just a little nicer, it would be in my safe.
