Been wanting one for awhile, a 4 5/8 inch stainless Blackhawk in .357. Sorry for the crappy pic.

That is a fine looking shooting iron. I have been eyeing those for quite some time now, Just wish I could find one in my area.

great lookin gun! why doesnt Ruger put pinned front sights on their blued guns???????????????????????????

I have one with the 6.5 inch barrel and it is a favorite. Likes the Keith SWC and Unique. Great load and very accurate in these handguns

I hope you've been out to the range with the gun since you got it. The first single action I ever shot was a friend's stainless Ruger 357. I am certainly glad he didn't own a lesser gun. It's very nice.

Yes sir, have shot it many times since I posted this. Shoots like a dream. I love the extra weight on the Blackhawk, same frame as the .44, smaller holes in cylinder and barrel, makes it a heavy gun, but makes it a dream to shoot. I have since added a Super Blackhawk hammer to this one, as well as a Belt Mountain knurled base pin. Here is an even crappier picture than the original.

The only thing I can figure is that they want the front sight blade on both guns, blue. Since a 100% stainless sight on a stainless gun won't blue properly, they insert a properly blued blade instead. Everything on the blued guns is put together and blued in one process. Just a guess, if anyone know for sure about this, I would like to hear it.

I have been working hard at convincing the powers that be at Ruger to change this. The blued guns use a single piece front sight. The stainless guns use a two piece, where the blade is separate. Trying to get them to change things to where they do the same process for both models. So far,,, no luck. Gonna keep trying.

I just love my 4 5/8 inch stainless .357 Blackhawk. It was a nice tightly fitted and well done specimen to begin with. I personalized it myself with a complete tear-down and polish of all external surfaces. I made and installed a trigger over travel stop, and fitted an oversize Belt Mountain base pin, and lathe turned myself a stainless lanyard ring I drilled and pinned in the grip frame. I topped it off with a dark spare pair of Eagle buffalo horn grips. It's one of my favorite revolvers just to take out of the safe and hold. And it's a fine shooter to boot. Don.
