Picked this up last weekend. I had one of these back in the 80's and sold it. Glad to have another one.

I removed the black plastic grips and installed the Ruger wood grips

Sweet six gun!
Picked my new .357 up today and noticed that the left side black plastic panel does not fit well. So I'll be looking for some wood grips like yours or the checkered ones.

Lovely irons. How do you find the handling of both? Do they feel and point similar?
That Colt looks perfect with the stags.

have always like the 38 special and the 357 even and was intrigued with an 'auto' round to got with it,,,so after many years of a first months issue Colt 2nd gen in 38, we finally added the New Vaquero in the 38/357/9mm combo from Bobby Tyler, so we are very pleased.............both "keepers"........

Have to add a pic of my new Blackhawk .357 to the thread along with the New Vaquero (again).
Having read so many online complaints about Ruger's QC the past few years, I gotta say Luck must be with me because the last 6 or 7 recent purchases have been without any real flaws (the aforementioned left grip panel notwithstanding).

Now, that would likely take a thread of its own to discuss! But a .357/9mm convertible would be high on my personal list!

They are nice. I have New Model Blackhawk convertibles in .357/9mm and .22LR/.22MAG. During the pandemic when .357 ammo was going for $1 a round I got 500 rounds of .38+P to put through it. I find that the 9mm cylinder is not as accurate as the .357 one.

I do like my tuned medium frame convertible .357 flattop. The 9mm cylinder of course doesn't get out, but I guess it is there if ever needed.

I hope your new one shoots well. Range report is needed :) .
