Looks like an adjustable sight .32 mag will finally be coming home to roost. Saw on at a shop today, called them and had it put on hold for me. Supposedly 90% and "really clean". Find out in a few days. :) :D :)

Already have a set of the birdshead .32's but wanted a adj sighted one. prefer the 6 1/2" model but this little 5 1/2" will be juuuust fine. :)

My 32 mag adjustable sighted single six really likes the 32 S&W shorts.....go figure. It shoots everthing well but with the shorts it's the most accurate revolver I own.

in fact, 100 grain HBWC (hollow base wadcutters) over a fairly modest load of W231 is VERY accurate and about the only thing I shoot in my old SSM (bought it in 1992 0r so)/

Great little guns. I have 2 SSM4's, one shooter and an unfired NIB 4 digit. Everbody in the family including 2 grandaughters enjoys shooting it.

Would love a birdshead .32 to go with my .45 birdshead(Cimmeron). Are they common on the used market? If so about how much? Thanks.

If you reload they are great. Actually they are great guns anyway but It sure would be cool if Ruger would chamber one in 327 mag. there are people doing conversions but the ammo is still pricey.

Went and looked it over. Aside from holster wear on the front 1/2" of the ERH, it's pretty minty with just an easy cylinder ring. Prefer a 6 1/2" model but the 5 1/2" will suffice. Put it on lay-a-way so probably a couple weeks it'll come home. :)

I won't part with my 4 5/8 I bought in the 80s when they came out or the 5 1/2 I scored from a friend last year.

I have two, a 4 5/8 stainless non-adj sight and a 5 1/2 blue with adj sights. I have come to really appreciate this fine little cartridge in a Ruger handgun. I do reload and shoot mild to +P. SAAMI industry standards hold loads to around 20,000 for chamber pressure. I believe that the strong Ruger frame can do that with ease. It's just such a fun handgun to shoot! If I can find another variation priced at all reasonably I will probably add it to my collection.

I also purchased one of the Marlin 1894 Cowboy rifles in 32 Mag earlier this year and it shoots very well too! With Hornaday 100 grain HP's it'll break two inches at 100 yards with receiver sights!

I no longer have a .32 SS but have an S&W 631, an S&W Model 16-4, and a Ruger SP101. I cast a Keith 100 gr bullet and mostly load target and small game loads of 2.8/231 in
.32 S&W Long cases.

However, 10.0 grs of H110 behind the 100 gr Keith in the .32 H&R Mag case will give you 1100 fps and that bullet seems to "get down there right NOW!"

Also have a Marlin in this chambering, one of the 1894 Cowboys models I got in thinking it would mate with the pair of birdshead .32's in case CAS happened.

HS-6 (or old Winchester 540) is another powder giving me some good results. Speer manual list loads for this Hodgdon powder.
