New 10/22 Deluxe Sporter

The 10/22 was a firearm we kept in the going to get one mood, but something else always seemed to come up. I picked this one up for my husband for his birthday a number of years ago:

We both quite like the Mannlicher stock it has.

That’s a beaut! I would to love to add a 10/22 with the International stock to the stable to match my 44 carbine with the same stock. Now to start looking, it never, ever ends.

got one from Walmart (Sporter) and one from Kmart (International), both are stainless, plus a stainless Mini 14 with the same laminate stock around the same time.

that is funny and sounds familiar. About 6-7 years ago I bought a WWII M1 Carbine and made the mistake of taking the wife to the range to shoot it. Of course she loved it so much, I ended up buying one for her. Happy wife…….

When I first saw the laminate 10/22's, I thought they were the ugliest thing I'd ever seen. They've since grown on me. That was a great find.

I too hated the plywood stocks. I bought a gray laminate stainless No1 - just to round out the collection. Now I like them. Too bad they made the ones on the 450 Bushmaster No1s so dark it ruined them.
The laminate is ideal for "international" stocks since you can make them whatever length you need. Being weather proof is a big plus.

Also have a stainless #1 in 45-70 and a stainless 77-50 black powder Ruger with the laminated stocks.

Not sure how you can know that…the serial number range encompasses approximately 3600 numbers plus the clean-up guns.

In your previous post you stated:

The laminated Sporter was manufactured for Faber Bros, my notes state 796 was the total number for the run.

My statement, “789 of that run”, was based on your statement of of “796 was the total number for the run” (original), without the clean up guns included. RENE lists the range of serial numbers of that 796 run between 233-15878 to 233-19491. The one in this photo is 233-19484, which is the 7th serial from the end of that run.

So I guess it’s possible that the serials not being sequential and they numbered other models in between these serial numbers, that this could be anywhere from the 7th to the 2nd from the end of that run.
