Need an ejector housing screw.

I was shooting my NM Super Blackhawk and the screw came out. This is the barrel with soldered insert. I may have to send into Ruger. Anyone know the thread size? 8-40 tpi is the size for tapped barrels. Thank you.

Yes, Ruger has great customer service! Until you ask about an Old Army, Security Six. This is the second Super BH this has happened to. Ruger's answer is a new barrel. Without soldered insert.

I don't know but,,, instead of re-soldering on the threads, I would look into a 5" Blued ERH,,, one can trim it down 4.25" or I just leave it 5" and tap a hole and screw it.
You do need to add what ever amount to the ER or when ordering the 5",,, just order a rod, sr ring & screw.

I have done this 4 times but in stainless. In fact have a 5" stainless coming.

Yep they make em in blue and most likely a call to Ruger will get it coming.

Yep, the extra covers the bad stuff. Just make sure the ERH is tight to the cylinder frame before making the mark for the hole.

Keep in mind, I have no idea what YOUR capability is,,, to me it's no big deal. There is not much room for error. I do mine on using a tool vice squared to the drill press and the tip of the hole is left ~25 thousands from the barrel bore. I use the drill press to start the tap & finish by hand.

Or find a machinist or gunsmith.

It's likely a screw that Ruger no longer stocks. But why not put a WTB ad in the classifieds here to see if someone has the correct screw?

I'm sure Ruger doesn't stock it. I'd like to know what years the inserts were used. This is the second Super that has given me problems.

If it's just the old model housing screw you need I have one. If the insert broke or came out, as I had one do, I sent it to Ruger, They rebarreled it with a new model barrel that has the book on it, tapped barrel, no insert.
