My Springer 1911A1 after 4000 Rounds

I bought the Loaded last February and I fired 100rnds of WWB 230gr FMJs, 400rnds of 230gr FMJ reloads and 3500rnds of 225gr LRN BN18 ( Lyman 452374 ). I'm happy to report not one malfunction what so ever, this also includes shooting 500 rounds in one session and using Two aftermarket 8 round Magazines. The Lube I use is Ballistol, Hoppe's Gun Oil and a light coat of Valvoline Synthetic Molybdenum Disulfide Grease for the Rails, works for me.

Before I shot the last 1000 rounds, I did some minor mods because there was some things I didn't like. I replaced the two piece Guide Rod with a GI Guide Rod and Recoil Spring Plug because #1, the Rod would loosen up and I had a heck of a time trying to depress the Recoil Spring Plug, felt like it was going to slice my thumb. I also replace the MSH because I have no need for the ILS.

The parts were literally a drop in fit, no fitting needed at all. The MSH was a dead ringer in fit and finish to the original one. With all that being said, the original parts worked without fault after 3000 rounds, so I'm keeping them for spare parts if the need ever arises.

Grips, with all the cool looking aftermarket Grips out there, I thought about changing them too, but the more I look at those cross canons, the more I was liking them, so they'll stay.

All in all, I'm pretty happy I acquired this S.A. Loaded, the Gun is accurate, POA at 25 yards with WWB and 6 O'clock sight picture at 25 yards with my reloads.

Man I love those Springers .... AND those cross cannon grips .... They are just beautiful laser cut grips. That's what my Springer wears.

Just a lowly GI model ... With a few tweaks .... This gun has the best trigger of all my 1911's.

I thought it was a Ruger thread. IMBEL down in Brazil does make good stuff. To go off thread my 1978 Colt after 40K rounds. Woopee.

For me, that would be a lot on one Gun, remember, I'm accelerating in high speed to old fart and I just started my 1911 adventure, I hope to put that many and then some on my 1911 before the worms get me :lol: ....................................

All you need is the ammo ... 100k rounds won't phase a 1911.
