Hi,

Sorry for that, Greg--I'm still learning to navigate the reply procedure.

But if you're willing to forgive, I could always do with some new parents who have a nice old Toyota they'd like to pass down! ;)

Sorry, I sold the FJ40. I do miss it but too many broken bones to wrestle with non-power steering and a stiff clutch. Do have a 2019 low-mileage 4Runner but that's promised to my nephew - sorry!:cry::cry::cry:

I have a model 23 Gamemaster, carbon steel, leather stack handle. I use mine. My favorite hunting knife, especially for skinning chores.
Update: I rendered out a 175# feral hog with mine last Friday night. Here's a pic of my one and only Randall, a 25th anniversary gift from my wife (that was almost 20 years ago, we'll be celebrating #44 in December).

... and I for one like the sheaths, including the sharpening stone. Never know when that might be a lifesaver. I found that a Randall 12-6 sheath fits a Buck 119 perfectly, and this one now houses my Buck custom shop 119.

"Does anyone actually use them?" Yes, lots of people use them and have used them for decades. Do some people just collect them and never use them? Yes. Just like guns or any other item. There are all kinds.

I have 14 Randalls all bought new at his shop.
The first one was a #5 with stag for $165.
None cost over $300.
Most where bought in the 70s and early 80s
I use the 2 Alaskan skinners each fall.
They have quadrupled in price since then. Plus the old ones are worth more now.

Well you guys/gals got me beat! My best is still that 66 made Puma. Nice to have valuable "keepers" I imagine those stag/bone handled knives are pretty expensive today. Recall seeing plenty back in the 60s with bone grips. Pretty reasonable prices too on many. Thanks for showing some real quality.

Model 17 Astro. I ordered this knife back in April of 2017. I remember we were on our way to Port Aransas, TX and we spent the night in some dumpy hotel as we didn't get off early in the morning and drive straight down.

I just got it last month and have been meaning to post some pictures.

Apparerntly the story goes, this knife was used...well, here is an excerpt from their website:
This Randall Made™ model was specially designed for the seven Mercury astronauts who carried them on America's first manned space flights. Astronaut Gordon Cooper did the final design and two of these historically valuable knives are on display in the Smithsonian Institution.

It's incredibly nice, but my only real issue is the screws on the handle don't line up. I'm not sure if that is hard to do, but since they are removable, they should line up in my opinion. Otherwise, I really, really like this knife.

Stainless blade, and they state on their website, the only option you can choose is to have your name etched into the blade. I didn't.

Really beauty kevin! Looks like it will handle some serious business. Be proud to own that one myself.
