:D :D Won this on Gun Broker and it just came in. JR Kennedy did the carving on this old style stock on a brand new tactical. :D :D

Now you need to take that stock off and put it back in the closet and go back to e-pay and get a good replacement stock and shoot your new rifle. That is a pre 580 series stock on a 581 rifle. kwg

why do you say 581 rifle? I have one in that configuration (but with a plastic stock) and it is a 580 series. Robert

Ruger came out with the 580 in or around 2006 and now I think they call all of the Ruger MINI 14 style rifles the 581. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. kwg

JR likes Minis and likes to carve. His Gun Broker id is Stock Carver, imagine that.

As far as the Winchester logo, he knew that but wanted to carve it. I like it.

I copied a couple pictures of minis he has for sale on going broker and posted them. I'm going to shoot mine as is at showdog events. Can a mini be a bbq gun? I see splurging on a fancy stock as about the same as putting nice stags on a revolver. I've got a stainless rubber stocked mini for trucking.

Gorgeous gun! Beautiful carving, but I'm wondering why they would put the Winchester logo on the Ruger gun?
