no , this is not an alternate universe posting...
oddly enough its a ruger i never intended to buy or even knew existed...
a friend needed money for a 1911 and asked me if i'd be interested in a ruger 22 he had , nib...
its an NR-4F-50 short barrel fixed sight blued SS...
daaammm , does this little sucker shoot!
timing is spot on , no dragmarks or peening , sights are straight , trigger is good , etc...
so whats the downside ?
ok , the locating holes in the grips were way oversized making the grips impossible to tighten down properly..
about 3 minutes and some small strips of duct-tape around the pin fixed that...
this is now my only remaining ruger , but damm! , its a good one...
they can do it right (at least they did in 2003...)
sorry , no pics available...

Don't worry about pics, we know what those little guns look like. Glad to hear you got a good shooter! If you want to protect those grip panels, the backside, from splitting or popping out the estuations, go to a hardware store, get a 1/2" long nylon spacer with a hole size just enough for the screw shaft. Hone about .005 off it with a file etc, and install it between the panels, over the screw. it'll prevent the horrible "busted pull through" that has ruined MANY pairs of grips.

Ruger still builds some good ones. My Lipsey .44 Special is a good example. If you like the grips, they can be fixed, but it sounds like it deserves a new pair.
