Hello, and thanks for letting me join. Was at my dad's house yesterday going through the gun cabinet and he asked if I knew the date on his single six. I tried to look it up but could not find this serial number range. (563878) Does anyone know what your manufacture it is?. He can't remember exactly when he bought it. But it has been well used over the years on the farm.

welcome to the forum and yes as noted above , a nice old SC6 from 1968 and appears to have been well used ,maybe even loved over time....may even be another spare cylinder around the house some where, making it a convertible, 22 cal and 22 magnum, bet its still in the box.....;)

There were a very few of these, in this serial number area, that were actually shipped as .22 Mag. only. I have three serial numbers noted, but no guns.

thats why without any "letter", we'll never know, and to me it most likely was a convertible, could look see, if any numbers marked on the front of the cylinder, and so on...not even sure just which cylinder is in the gun pictured..?? I know the Amish around us , who have one hanging in their barn, on a peg, it has the magnum cylinder, claims it works better on the 'hogs' they butcher........
....again, Sonny, neat gun and thank you for sharing.....;)
