I just got this back tonight from Hamilton Bowen. His package included full action job, longer firing pin, his Target rear and patridge front sights. I also had him apply a black powder chamfer to the cylinder. I'll try to get her out tomorrow with some factory .45 acp until I can load some .45 Colt. Brand new, the gun would lock up occasionally and I couldn't pull back the takedown plunger to disassemble. Hamilton looked at it, decided to send it back to Ruger before he worked on it. He then applied his magic and now she's home. Range report to follow but I shot her some before and she did well. The action is amazing, everything feels tighter and more precise.

Custom gunsmiths work a lot of magic for sure. Bowen's guns are always highly regarded. That one appears to be just another example of fine work!

I took her out today. 32 degrees and strong winds don't make for accurate shooting in my case. I fired my last 6 .45 Colt factory loads and 5 moon clips of .45 acp. I'll load up some .45 Colt and wait for a better day to see what she does.

That's a model 5050 I think, I have the model 5032 which is the unsleeved barrel. I shoot some serious 310 grain powder coated cast bullets in it as well as 45 acp on occasion. It is hands down my favorite pistol in my collection.
You can load that thing from mild to wild!
In my opinion it is the best Redhawk built.
I put a Bowen front sight on mine to keep my 310 cast dead on at 25 and 50 yards.
Beautiful pistol 👍🍻
