I just got this back tonight from Hamilton Bowen. His package included full action job, longer firing pin, his Target rear and patridge front sights. I also had him apply a black powder chamfer to the cylinder. I’ll try to get her out tomorrow with some factory .45 acp until I can load some .45 Colt. Brand new, the gun would lock up occasionally and I couldn’t pull back the takedown plunger to disassemble. Hamilton looked at it, decided to send it back to Ruger before he worked on it. He then applied his magic and now she’s home. Range report to follow but I shot her some before and she did well. The action is amazing, everything feels tighter and more precise.

Custom gunsmiths work a lot of magic for sure. Bowen's guns are always highly regarded. That one appears to be just another example of fine work!

I took her out today. 32 degrees and strong winds don’t make for accurate shooting in my case. I fired my last 6 .45 Colt factory loads and 5 moon clips of .45 acp. I’ll load up some .45 Colt and wait for a better day to see what she does.

2 months or less I believe. That’s WITH him sending it back to Ruger first for them to correct their issues before he worked on it.
