Movie; "Reagan" with Dennis Quaid

Here's another shout out about a really good movie we all need to watch, and get others to watch. The movie "Reagan" starring Dennis Quaid as Ronald Reagan should be mandatory watching by all politicians.
We went to see it yesterday,, and it was excellent.
But it showed just a little bit of several things that made RR a great person AND President. His wit,,, his love of jokes, that helped put people at ease. His deep belief in Faith, and being a Christian. His ability to study things with a depth & insight into the "deeper currents" underlying the subject. And his ability to disagree with someone,, yet work with them towards a compromise.
But his ability to see the threat of communism, and how to beat it was his greatest accomplishment.

I do hope all of us here can make the effort & spend the time to go see this movie. Show the hollyweird crowd how many people want such a president, and make the movie a huge success. Make theaters want to show it. let it become a blockbuster.
It's not getting the publicity or whatever it deserves.

I'm not wanting this thread to turn into a political discussion. But I do hope it'll get people to GO SEE THE MOVIE!!!!!!

Ticket sales & demands for it speaks LOUDLY!!!!!!!

Quaid was on a talk show last week plugging the movie, I like him

I think he also did one about Clinton?

My fave movie of his was The day after tomorrow.

Great movie, don't wait to see it. When 98% of the people like it but only 18% of the mainstream media movie critics do, that could mean it will have limited engagements.

That's why we have to get people out to see it by "advertising" for it ourselves. By getting people to want it, asking for it, and going to see it in places that do show it,, the "mainstream" ones will realize they screwed up.

There's also an excellent Reagan documentary by Ric Burns (brother of Ken Burns) that I just found on Prime, Netflix or both, that we enjoyed even more!

The movie didn't cover that. Nobody ever said he was perfect,, but he sure was a LOT better than what we had been dealing with in the White House. And one of his greatest achievements was how he ended the cold war & brought down the USSR.


We also have recorded,, and have watched the C-SPAN history documentary filmed on 7/25/24 at the Reagan Library,, with Dennis Quaid & a few other actors & it was about the movie & their work in doing it. Plus,, they discuss a LOT of stuff about RR that they learned, what they felt, and such. That too is also a good thing to watch.

We had some friends in town and we had wanted to see it and they mentioned wanting to also. Love the cheap afternoon shows for us senior citizens!

It will bring back memories of how things were in those days., Carter just about drove us into the ground, interest rates through the roof, inflation and SS was in huge trouble. He didn't make all perfect decisions, but he made decisions for the people.

Probably the last truly decent human being we had in the White House - in my opinion of course.

It is worth the $5 to see for sure.

The wife and I saw the movie just a couple of days ago---enjoyed it very much---we need strong leaders, but these days it's a popularity contest---we all know Kameltoe would be a worthless, weak leader, but so many people will vote for her because they hate Trump! We deserve better, stronger leaders...
