Selling a rare GS-83NYCPD Speed Six, .38 Special, DAO hammer. These were made under contract for the NYPD and each one was inspected by the NYPD armorer and marked with a star under the crane if accepted. This gun was a consignment out of a shop on Long Island, likely from the retired officer or his estate. My copy of the RENE Reference is a few years old and at that time only 6 of this model were known. This one is now the second lowest serial number in the known group of 7. They all fall into in the 162-4xxxx s/n range, and this one is 162-413xx. Looks like it was buffed to clean/polish and is a little shinier than most. A more traditional satin finish can be restored with a Scotch Brite pad and some TLC. It came to me with ill-fitting Pachmayr grips, so I added the Ruger medallion fingergoove Pachs, but these revolvers should have factory wood grips.

Moved to GunBroker. See Auction Links section for link.$550 shipped to FFL. Or $525 without the fingergroove grips.

Does it have the serrations on top of the spurless hammer? And does it actually have a normal full cock notch allowing the hammer to be cocked?
