My Dad bought me one of those carbide lights that clipped onto a miners helmet just because it was a neat thing back then. My Dad was a pretty neat guy.
Messy and a pain to use but us poor folk couldn't afford batteries. The ones we
had were the handheld variety. We ate the coons we caught too. I had an old
black and tan and my uncle (same age as me) had a pair of Walkers.

Folks always watched the Chevy Show. Musical Variety. That jingle keeps going through my mind now. "See the USA in your Chevrolet"
There was always a special commercial during Bonanza showing off the new Chevies for that year.

M-80s and Cherry Bombs. Oh what fun!
Shoot them with a sling shot or tape them to a rock and throw them in the lake. They would go off under water.
Wish I had a box of them now..
