Seein the shiny colt in the other thread made me wanna post this one of ours. I bought it a while back and jnew that dad liked it so i "gave" it to him. He keeps it at his house but anytime we shoot he always brings it out for me to play with. Its a looker. And a shooter.

And here's what it looks like with a barrel just a silly 1/2" longer, which allows a very useful full-length ejector rod.

And this shows it's almost identical in length and height to a Colt Commander. The revolver's frame is thinner than the 1911's, but of course the cylinder is fatter than any part of the 1911.

They could have used that extra length ejector rod on mine if they had put a full underlug. Wuda been better.

I have a Rossi that I think is a clone of that model. I just picked it up in a trade and haven't even shot it yet. I'll have to give it a good workout and see how it performs for me. This is currently my largest double action revolver--it joins an SP-101 and a Smith 642 in my collection. (I have some single actions that are much larger.)

From what I've gathered so far, it could turn out to be a great gun, notwithstanding the poo-pooing often directed at the Brazilian brands. It fits my hand nicely, shows really good fit and finish, locks up reasonably tight... we shall see what it can do at the range.

What else can you tell us about your real SmiffinWesson? I don't know what comprises a -2, except the obvious and important fact that it's from before the Hilary hole era.

My dad has a no dash 66. It has stainless steel front and rear sights, recessed cylinder and i believe pinned bbl. mine is not recessed, has black sights and no pinned bbl. but it does have diring pin on the hammer. Other than that, i am unsure of the differences. HTH
