Wondering if any one might be able to help me figure out why my MKIII is being so difficult to reassemble? I've had this gun apart several times and back together successfully. This time I'm having trouble getting the main spring housing to fold back into the grip. I have the pin all the way showing out the top of the receiver , hammer full forward , hammer strut aligned to fall in place gun pointed up , trigger pulled . As I try to close the main spring it pulls the pin out of the upper receiver hole ever time thus not going into the grip ? This is a MKIII 512 target model.

I agree , it's much easier to take down and reassemble now than when it was new, I am pretty miffed at it and had to walk away a couple times , maybe some time away and she will cooperate when I try again.

Did you remove the magazine after the mainspring housing was pushed in as far as it would go? I've been through this a few times and had to go back and read the reassembly instructions a few times to get it right.

I went and got may manual ( you know look at instrutions when all else fails LOL ) and it didn't say to remove the mag I noticed it wasn't pictured so I tried both ways. It's like the main spring assembly it pivoting off the hammer and pulling the pin out of the receiver as I close the spring. Whats frustrating is I have reassembled this gun several times and not had this problem.

Excellent video, I am doing it corectly , I see my problem !! It's that the hammer will NOT go full forward !! I have the barrel off , mag in , pull the trigger and the hammer will not go full forward.

Any ideas whats not allowing my hammer full travel ?? Safety is off , mag in, but the trigger won't travel much and doesn't release the hammer.

Well further disassemble reveled the problem , broken sear pin had my sear wedged tight and wouldn't release the hammer .

Have a pic but not sure how to post it ?[/list]

Got my new sear pin in the mail yesterday and had some time tonight, just finished putting her back together , no fight this time. Hope I can make it to the range this weekend and test it out .

I was going to say the hammer was not going all the way 'forward' and you need to push it... but you figure out that the reason for this was a broken part. How did you get a new part in two days? That's pretty dern good!

I still think we need some kind of certificate for MKIII owners once they have done the reassembly three times.

I ordered it from Brownells , there right here in Iowa so it's like next day on normal shipping. I figure I probably caused it to break some how though I wasn't that forceful with any thing. I don't think it's hardened steel the center sure didn't look that way. It got me familiar with a detailed tear down though .
