Any "commemorative" or other special issue in 98% condition would have to at least have the box to command anything more than the price of a regular shooter. Preferably, it will be unfired (or 99+ percent condition) and include the original hanging tags and the shipper.

You may get lucky and find somebody who really wants that particular pistol and is willing to pay extra for it, but it's a pretty slim chance.

On the plus side, a Mark II in decent shape sells for as much as a comparable new Mark III, and sometimes more (at least in my neck of the woods).

Thank you, and thanks to everyone else who supplied answers. My buddy picked one up the other day for $250 and it struck me as a pretty good deal- just wanted to bounce it off the forum.
