What do you think about putting a Mk III front sight on a Mk II slabside ? The Mk II front sight is very sharp and hooked. I don't like that. I heard the Mk III front sight is less hooked and not as sharp. What do yall think ?

It works well. You need the one for an adjustable sights 5.5" bull barrel model. I bought one with intention of installing it on one of my MARK IIs, but it ended up on my buddy's 6" Pac-Lite upper. Somehow, I even ended up putting a white dot on it for him LOL:

Another option is to use the front sight off of a Browning Buck Mark; here's one on my Frankenstein 22/ MARKII:

Greg,

HOW did you do the dot on the front sight ??? That's pretty good.
Thanks!
I drill it then fill with paint :)

To do so:
You need to find and mark the vertical center line of the sight blade's rear face. Determine how far you want the top of the dot from the top sight blade,
then mark the center line that distance (plus half the diameter of the dot you want) down from the top of the sight blade. Center punch the mark and, starting with a smaller size bit, drill a shallow hole. Check that the hole is at the distance you want from the top and equidistant from the sides of the sight blade, then proceed with progressively larger bits (checking the position often) until you have the size dot you desire. I paint by puddling the paint on a piece of scrap then transfer it to the hole with a toothpick. That usually requires several sessions as the paint settles in the hole as it dries. I like to seal it with a drop of super glue, but that is probably not necessary.

Regards,
Greg

Thanks Greg. If you're not a gunsmith, that's pretty damn good. If you are, that's still pretty dam good ! Thanks for the explanation. Like Clint Eastwood says, a man's got to know his limitations...
