Newbie here, SoCal1911.
I have read that MK II Gov't Target Model 6 7/8 were produced with a little extras by Ruger. Could not find much as to what extras Ruger did on this model. I have had mine since 1992 when I purchased it new, just is a great shooter. Does have a good / better trigger when I compare it to two others MK IIs (different models) that I received from my wife's family.
Can you let me know what Ruger did to these over their other models, if anything.
Thanks for the info.

I have one, much like yours and about the same age, but I do not
remember them having any special work/parts. Seems I do remember
that the "Government Target" received a fair amount of TLC that the
other production MK-IIs didn't. At least mine shoots that way. :D  :D

I thought I'd read that they have either a overtravel or take up screw, but mine doesn't. The factory trigger is pretty sweet though.

You might think so, but if you put in a Volquartsen kit, you'll change your opinion real quick.

I've thought about it. I'd like to find one of the old style Volq. triggers. I don't like the looks of the current ones. If I can find a good deal on one of the old style I probably would upgrade just the trigger.
