Mini-14 value and Questioin

I have an old Mini-14 (Eighties vintage), and was wondering what it's worth? It has the wood stock and hand guard, I can provide more info if necessary.

Also, those of you who have the newer Mini's with the new style sights, how do you like them? Is the quality comparable to the old ones? I think I'd like to sell off my old one for something with better sights, since I'm not gonna mount a scope on the gun.

I have the newer ranch rifle and I've shot the old one, I much prefer the Ranch with its peep sight and it has the mounts built into the receiver for a scope if you so choose. I have a Leupold 2-7x33 on mine.
