it seems to be a pretty good ideal if you were going into a gunfight, but this is the first time i have seen one of these

I don't know who made the stock but the Mini-14 is not a pump action..Even with that kinda of stock, it is still a semi auto. You just can not pump it faster than I can fire it semi auto mode.

yes i know its a semi auto i believe the pump stock is designed to clear misfires or feeding problems without taking a hand off the gun stock

Are we talking a ban-state rifle? I've seen a pump-action AK; due to its manual operation, it would be legal in Kali.

I would say the pump actually extends the stock so you can go from stock retracted and shooting from the hip to stock extended and shooting from the shoulder without taking your hand off the front of the gun.

I think it is ugly and useless and would be a horrible front grip to hold for a short time let alone a long time.

There were a few "Bolt Action Only" mini-14's made for the English market, the overrun of which Williams Shooter's Supply got a while back (about 45 guns) that the pictured conversion would work good for, if that forearm block is indeed part of the outfit's slide.

A closer examination of the second picture convinces me that this thing was meant to operate the Min manually; there appears to be a rod extending from the modified forend to the traditional operating handle on the Min. Pumping the forend would thrust the bolt rearward. I have to assume that the regular gas piston has been removed or disabled.

Gotta agree it's not a pretty beast; really hate how buggered up 'compliant' guns can be. Ever see a Kali legal AR, sans pistol grip? Arghhhh.

Ok, it's a Maxi-14 stock. They were sold as an aftermarket stock for Mini's back in the 80's. It is set up so that you pump the rifle to chamber the first round, and after that they are semi-auto. Don't ask me how they work, haven't a clue. Check out www.perfectunion.com if you have any questions.

I can see why they didn't multiply and prosper.
