There have been many complaints about privacy issues on Windows 10. Now they are trying to sneak in the same issues on Windows 7 & 8.1 using Windows Updates.
Check the following on your "installed updates" for the month of August and uninstall. There are no ill effects for doing so, but it will prevent Microsoft from spying on you.

I love these uninformed generalised posts...

Yes if you post kiddie porn on your Microsoft onedrive, they will see it and are authorized to contact law enforcement.

Use common sense people.

There is no such thing as common sense outside of what any one person thinks.
But you can try to convince folks there is such and they are wrong for not agreeing with you because they do not have common sense.
common sense guns laws etc
When you are in your own crowd you might believe in some common sense, but that is well ...an exception
:)

I turned off "the Cloud" and Cortana. I delete "The Cloud" and I did not initiate One Drive. I have no use for any of it. I consider it invasive and unwanted. I do not see any option/method to delete Cortana or One Drive.

I still use Vista and I hope I don't have these problems, or do I?

I just went back into M updates and went back a full year. There is no matching updates as the ones posted here.
I guess I'm GTGO.

I'll ask again, does anyone know the specific form the 'spying' takes, or is this based on suspicion of what might be possible?
Why don't you do a Google search for Windows 10 privacy concerns and find out for yourself. We are not here to hold your hand. :)

I think there is a modest burden on the OP to explain what the heck he's talking about.

Agreed 100% let's hear it!

Folks - - remember one thing that has not changed since 1988. EVERY keystroke on any Apple or Microsoft computer routes through Langley and/or Eugene (The DOE's Titans are next...). What OS you choose has almost zero bearing, and now even TOR network & JAP users are being closely monitored.

There is no privacy expectation here. Even using the new Boeing & Lockheed virtual drawing (DoD) software, we received two warnings (so far) that unless you're on a State Dept. or in some cases Naval Intel machine, there is no privacy expectation.

Suffice it to say every keystroke is available to someone wearing a sidearm, somewhere... Heck, if you have cable TV or a satellite dish...

Paranoia is for those who don't understand.
