I have two of the Phoenix Arms 22. cal. They are great shooters. Extremely accurate. Heavy and nothing I would use for self defense. Fun as hell to shoot. Easy to fix the weird safety. Actually better shooters than some of my more expensive 22.cals. Just be sure to use standard velocity ammo. No hold open on last shot. The 1911 style pistol feels great in the hand.
The LCP will last longer than 1200 rds, but 1200 is when your start looking closely for cracks. I did have one make it to around 2000 rds but that is rare. Ruger will replace them which is great, BUT they will cut you off at some point. They will say you are using Plus P ammo.

I'll just drop this right here 😉… and no, I don't carry this. I've wanted one since the '80s and ran across this one ANIB about 10 years ago at a ridiculous steal of a price.
I carry mine frequently. In fact, I carried it today. My wife and I like to walk the length and back of our local beach. I usually carry my .45 acp AMT DAO Backup.

RE: The Ring of Fire...I was surprised to see the Jennings listed. My son bought a Jennings -.22 and I liked the looks of it so much I asked him for it. Since I have given him thousands of dollars in firearms and ammo, I figured he wouldn't mind giving me a small $100 pistol. Took it out and fired one magazine of Aguila Super Max (recommended as CCI cases are too long). After cleaning/oiling it again, not even recommended for carrying while at a card table. My son will eventually inherit after I pass. It will not be missed.

The only "throwaway" I own is the one shown in my avatar ( Proving that I have no need to over-compensate. 😁 ). It's a Bearman, which is a re-named Cobra. It works, and is a last resort den gun, but I wouldn't carry it.

Well, I still carry my 3 inch Smith and Wesson 44 magnum. If I was forced to carry an autoloader, I would dig out my Colt 1911, 45 acp.
What he said: When I carry an auto it is only a COLT 1911 (no knockoffs) in .45 BUT, most of the time it is a S&W .44 or .45 (1950 .44 Military aka model 21, model 24 or model 25 OR my 4" custom 4-digit .44 Flattop). I didn't cut it down... bought it that way 60 years ago.

I have never heard of that 'Ring of Fire', pretty interesting. When I bought into the lifetime membership for Front Sight out in Nevada I got a 'free' pistol... I think it is made by one of the 'relatives' of that group from the ring. Worst Semi-auto I own... FMK-C1... Glock copy, has the worst trigger I've ever pulled and at least the first hundred rounds through it was a jammomatic ... I do think the last time I took it to the range it did shoot better.....

Another list but short: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/m...&cvid=62b50bc3bd7d41289350e0e6b987f202&ei=100

No issues with the Glock 26 (9mm) or Glock 36 (45ACP) but prefer my Glock 29 (10mm) with same # of rounds as Glock 26. Don't have a PPK but I do have the PP model. Good range pistol and like it for training purposes but wouldn't carry it. Love the 9x18 round and my East German Makarov but wouldn't carry a pistol with an under grip magazine release. If I did carry a 9X18 it would be my CZ82 with 12 round magazine and on frame magazine release.
CZ 82's are what got me hooked on CZ's. $180.00 for pistol, holster and two magazines. Those were the day's! I carry a CZ P-01 and a 97b today, but the 82 was actually my first CCW.

I've only heard good things about CZ's and the first time was on the G Gordon Liddy radio show and he was bragging about the CZ's his wife owned.... since he could not legally own firearms anymore. (If I was president I would have pardoned him just because he was the only one out of the crew that did not back down)

I got the two SIg's as Christmas presents from my Wife. She bought the Compact by mistake and when my Son told her I wanted a full size P320 she turned around and bought it. I also bought a S&W M&P .45 because I was tired of sending the Taurus TH 45 I bought back for repair. The Sig's are great guns, either one would suit me as an EDC. The S&W .45 is nice too and handles the .45 recoil fine. Still, I prefer the CZ P-01 and 97b for carry. There are so many nice, efficient carry guns out there I wouldn't feel badly armed with most that have been named. Not Glock 9MM, though. I do like the G21 as a bedside gun with flashlight/laser.

I do have an LCP !! as a back up gun. I think the .380 is better than any .25 or .22.

Sorry but the author of that lost me with the first two... Glock (which ever one) and the Walther PPK? give me a break... I did not read any further , but has he or she actually shot a PPK?
There are a multitude of better choices in that realm.... just because it was made famous by Ian Fleming who was as knowledgeable about firearms as Joe Biden....does not make it a good concealed carry choice. This person obviously had drunk too much of the Glock Kool-aid. But then I'll admit my prejudice is that I just personally don't care for them.... swore for years I would never own a Glock... but never say never... I own 3 and my prejudice still stands... other than they aren't nearly half as ugly once you own one.
I had a PPKs and thought it a fine piece. The recoil is lively but manageable. The main point for me is easy to carry. Sold it years ago for some reason. Now I carry a Colt Cobra circa 1964. Buffalo Bore makes a low flash cartridge for short barrels. 158 grain soft lead hollow point. ME is about 250 ft lbs. There are more powerful options, obviously, but this one is so easy to carry and will never fail me.

Author lists the Glock 26 (9mm) and Glock 36 (45ACP) which I don't have an issue with but prefer my Glock 29 (10mm). Same number of rounds as the Glock 26. Don't have a Walther PPK but do have the PP model in 32 ACP. I do like 32 ACP for training purposes and range shooting but not for CCW. The Makarov is a great pistol. I have an East German model with both 7 & 8 round magazines. Again great for range but I wouldn't CCW a pistol with an under grip magazine release. If I were to carry a 9X18 pistol it would be my CZ82. 12 round magazine with frame mounted magazine release.
The CZ 82 was my second BUG gun. It got me hooked for life on CZ's. $180.00 for 12 shot pistol, two magazines, and a holster. I bought seven.
