according to my 'older' RENE guide, there were 4,670 BNM-7 and 4,577 BNM-10 shipped through 1983 and the numbering reached 600-16314 at the end...( Thank you Chet15) anything updated from this I am not aware of....
Best you check in and subscribe to the RENE ,and get all this handy dandy info ,first hand..........

What was shipped?????? Possibly some where around the <10,000 figure. It was always thought that production was about 25% 7 1/2" and 75% 10 1/2. Recording serial #'s since 1984, I'm finding about 38% 7 1/2" and 62 % 10 1/2" How many made???????? Highest recorded (not in public hands) and published serial # is 600-16314. At one time I had the highest recorded serial # out in the public (thanks to a good friend!) 600-11300.......that was top dog for quite a while............then another member ran onto a consec pair 600-11444 and 11445!!!!! Unfortunately , for me, I do not own those. And by the way PM me your serial #'s if you own one. Barrel length, anything odd, shipping box, box etc. Maybe someday I'll write a book!
Another question you may want to ask is how many were destroyed.
But..............I'll have more on that later. Coogs.

Coogs, you chastising me again for making the 414 Supermag? Remember, all us converters do is drive up the value of your collection. Besides, that little project let me send you some parts for your stash! Oh, by the way, a 7 1/2 Maximum s# 600-11072 is on its way to Oregon. Another number for your records.

Take care,

Robb

So that one was yours? I cried when I was too slow on the Buy It Now.
Blurry pics made me hesitate.
Won't do it again!

Coogs- Didn't Ruger ask for maxie owners to return them to the factory too? How many are estimated and were they 'destroyed' too?

Yes Jimbo, I kind of went out on a limb and said I'd take it. I've done that a few times on guns that had lousy pictures or no pictures and so far it has been ok. Sooner or later though, I realize I'll take one in the shorts buying like that.
