Marlin microgroove barrel

Does Marlin still make these barrels for 22's ?

Yes, they do... my new XT-22M has micro-groove and their website still lists it as standard on all their rimfire rifles (Bolt, Lever, Semi) except those in .17HMR

Keystone Firearms also makes a 'micro-grooved' barrel for the 10-22. I have one and used two for custom builds and really liked to outcome.

My very early Marlin 17VS don't need no stinkin' Micro-Groove barrel. With it's heavy 22" 1:9 4-groove it was a very near quarter MOA tackdriver from the get-go (still is). The improvements I added to it up front plays a roll in that though.

I've seen a micro-groove type barrel in another, older .22. Wish I could remember what it was. I know it wasn't a rebranded Marlin.

My old (64 years) Remington 514 has shallow rifling. Looking down the barrel it looks like a swirl with no deep cut rifling. It is and always has put holes in holes.
