That is an amazing video and thanks for posting it. I have also wondered why my MK III's ejected casings seem to fly off in all directions. Any theories, folks? And that "Bolt Bounce"...what's going on there?

Maybe. But if you make it too strong you'll get ejection and feeding problems.

It appears from the video that the normal inclination is for the ejected case to be thrown slightly backwards, but that the bolt actually hits it as it comes forward, before the case is completely out of the chamber -- which deflects the case in different directions, depending on when it's hit.

Next time I go to the range, I'll try to get a closeup video of the chamber area.

Thanks! I thought that was pretty cool. BTW, a stronger spring would bring the bolt forward sooner, resulting in less time for the empty cartridge to clear the area.
