I sent an email to Ms. Diprofio asking her to check if there are any other serial numbers between 25000 through 29999 listed on either side of serial number 27203 in the book marked STANDARD.

This is here reply: Yes Sir there are serial numbers between 25000 through 29999 in the Standard book. There are 111 pages of serial numbers in this block. I checked every single page and there is no notation of them being a Mark I pistols except for a range of serial number from 25000 – 25045.

I suppose this is early enough in Ruger history that there may not be much of anything noted in the daybook as far as "Standard" or "MARK I".
But here's the thing...there are plenty of old factory letters out there that say Mark I...that is when the letter was being specific...so where did that info come from?
Doesn't matter, your gun is what it is....and there are tons of other collectors out there who also have a Mark I in the 25000 through 29999 range.
The last portion of this range was the 5-1/4".
One thing we know for sure though....at least that day book still exists.
