mark 2 magazine

hi ruger fans,
today i rec'd two mark 2 magazines from brownells. i noticed that the thumb piece on one is reversed. both packages are marked mark 2, the one that is reversed of course will not fit. my question is, how do i fit the magazine, and reverse the thumb piece? thanks for any help... danruger

Welcome to the forum.
Check to see which magazine will work in your gun. Then, take the other magazine,,, find a non-maring object that can be used to depress the follower all the way to the bottom. Then while holding it depressed,,, remove the button from one side & reverse it to the other side. Then slowly allow the follower to return to the top. You are done.

Another way is to remove the floorplate and relieve the spring tension on the follower. Personally, I find this to be easier but both ways work.
